Artist in Residence
at Village Church

“A program that desires to engage the community through visual arts that inspire worship and highlight God’s beauty, fostering prophetic imagination. This project invites our intercultural congregation and the broader community to experience the church as a public space for healing, unity, and reflection in a divided world.”

Job Description

Join Us as Our Artist in Residence at Village Church!

Village Church is seeking an Artist in Residence for 11-months of 2025, February to December to create a lasting, creative impact on the wider community and church. The artist will create original work, lead art showcases, inspire future generations, and use art as a bridge between the tech culture surrounding the church, with the spiritual and theological. This residency offers the chance to create art that reflects God's beauty, promotes worship, and connects people in meaningful ways.

If you’re looking for an opportunity to share your talents to be part of community transformation, we invite you to apply for our 2025 residency at Village Church.

Prophetic Imagination

This year, we embrace the theme of prophetic imagination, built on four foundational pillars: a spirit-driven process, communal spiritual experiences, deeper hermeneutics, and personal life encounters. Our goal is to nurture and inspire a consciousness that stands in contrast to the prevailing culture, guiding our community to experience the beauty of God's Kingdom as envisioned by the Triune God. Through this journey, we invite everyone to engage with a new, transformative perception of the world, one that reflects the deeper truths and beauty of God's will for His people.

Who Is Eligible to Apply?

We welcome artists available to be in Oregon for the duration of the residency. We are seeking artists whose work and creative medium align with our Village community culture, values, and theology.

Eligible artists should have a minimum of 5 years experience. The artist in residence is expected to spend their time at a designated studio at Village, working on art, art showcases and other projects. We seek applicants passionate about the power of art to engage and transform, with a focus on building connection with our congregation.
